Private client - Lytham St Annes
On the west coast looking over the water is this lovely pool area. Basking in sunshine most of the day the design was to replant the borders and re pave the pool area.
The client loves cottage style planting, so I agreed to use a mixture of perennials and evergreens so as to retain colour for the winter even though in the winter the pool area is not used as much as the summer.
Travertine paving was designed into the are as its porcelain and also porous, so the area can have its own drainage system into the borders and away from the pool. The pavers are also R11 anti slip for the British weather and of course next to the pool. Palms on the side of the ocean are mixed with juniper skyrockets and lots of cottage planting. A plastic (but very combatable) sofa was designed in as well as a fire pit for evenings by the pool. The plastic sofa also means you can sit there after swimming.
