The Quirky Cottage Garden - Winning Premier Gold and Best in Show
Designed by me and built by www.decol.co.uk Decol Construction Ltd we have never put so much into a shaow garden before and could be found at 2am under spotlight getting this one ready for judging the next day. Subsiquenltly we won a premier gold and best in show.
Premier gold means we got client loves cottage style planting, so 100% on the judges score card which is very difficult to do! Its the first time this award had been awarded in 11 years, so you see how good you have to be to achieve this.
Our brief was to design a front garden with the backdrop provided. I really do love this garden design, the natural stone paving works very well with an area to sit and ponder and drink tea too. Structured planting and white wooden obelisks with a white picket fence really does provide structure to plant against. A small lawn at the front had a water feature, stone globe ball lights lit the garden at night and bird feeders, bug houses and garden orniments including a clock made the mixture work very well.
